Using Grab

Grab Utilty instructions

  1. Open the grab utility.  Hard Drive –> Applications –> Utilities –> Grab
  2. Grab will run in the background.  You can access it at any time by clicking on its icon (pair of scissors) in the dock.
  3. Click on the window you want to grab an image from.
  4. Click on the grab icon in the dock.
  5. From the Capture menu at the top of the screen, choose “selection.”  This will let you capture a specific region of the screen by dragging around it.
  6. Grab will display a tooltip showing the size of the region you have selected and the screen shot will open in a window when you release the mouse button. The cursor will not be included.
  7. Practice by using Grab to capture just step 3 of this page and paste it into your L12 word document.

 

Inserting a Grab image into a word document

1.    Click on the Grab window with the image you want to insert.
2.    Choose Copy from the edit menu.
3.    Place the cursor in the word document where you want the image to be.
4.    Chose Paste from the edit menu.
5.    You may have to resize the image to make it fit in the document.
