For Athletes

Am I Hurt?

The body’s normal response to training is typically muscles that are sore for a few days after an intense practice/contest.  If you have pain that is not in a muscle or if you have a pain that has been nagging you for more than four days, it is a good idea to come by the athletic training room to see if we can help you.  Take care of the little things so that they don’t turn into larger injuries.

You are responsible for letting your coach and the athletic training staff know if you are hurting.  You are also responsible for following up with your injury and following treatment and rehabilitation directions.  Please keep your parents in the loop as to what you do here on a daily basis.

Water

Hydration is a huge component of sport.  The dehydrated athlete is more likely to experience muscle strains and other injuries that could otherwise be prevented.  It is your responsibility to bring a water bottle with you to every training session and contest.  If you do not have access to a water bottle then please come see me so that we can remedy that.
