Mrs. Worth @ KMS

Students and Parents,
I miss you all very much during this unprecedented pandemic event. While we here at school figure out how to best help every student access educational and social-emotional growth opportunities, I have some links on my math and science pages to keep you thinking at home. Don’t forget that going outside, WHILE REMAINING 6 OR MORE FEET AWAY FROM OTHERS AND WASHING YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU GET HOME AGAIN, to be active and observe nature is a great activity as well! Please also use this time to work on some creative activities you don’t normally have time for… drawing, music, designing, the list goes on! Please feel free to email me and use the resources the district is providing as well. Let’s all help each other, spread kindness and demonstrate PRIDE.
Best wishes for all,
Mrs. Worth

Welcome to Mrs.Worth’s site!
Here you can find all things math and science for 6th graders at Kennedy Middle School.
Please click on your class on the tab above for updates, links and uploads.
Checkout the links in the blogroll sidebar for helpful websites.

For homework help, please use the links on the side and/or on the math help document on the 6th grade math page. Remember, homework is for practice, and it is an effort grade. Work shown and evidence of thinking on the paper is the most important thing! Math homework is given Monday-Thursday in a packet, which is due with a parent signature each Monday. Students are welcome to stop by before or after school for assistance. Please email worth@4j.lane.edu with any questions.

I use a grading system called proficiency (or standards) based grading. Each learning target is scored separately. I use a 4 point rubric, with a 3 indicating proficient. Students will be given multiple opportunities to increase their proficiency scores on various types of assessments throughout the year.
