MS Word for Mac does not have “enable editing”

Some of the documents coming from the Ed Center are forms that were created in Word for Windows. The documents are locked except for the fields to be filled in.

The problem is that MS Office for Mac 2011 and earlier does not have the same levels of security as the Windows version. Mac users are unable to fill out the forms in Word.

Since Word for Windows 2010 does have a option to save files as pdfs, it may be possible to fill it out in either Preview or Adobe Reader. This is untested, however, so please let us know if it does work.
