Farison

Endlessly walking into what seemed to be an never ending forest with infinite boundaries. The farther they walked, the more time seemed to slow down for them. The shrieking sound of an owl and the whips of the wind pushed them deeper into this non-reality. The forest was breathing and pulsation in the moonlight. Their steps muffled quieter as they transferred from gravel to grass. They had forgotten everything in that moment but when the two looked up, they saw something in the stars. Amelia and Jayden, the two words floated in their minds until it drifted there consciousness back to them. Jayden looked back just to see the glare of the car headlights behind them. They let the light guide them deeper into the forest.

“How, I just don’t understand,” said Amelia. “We will never find the answers without asking the right questions,” Jayden responded. Those words repeated in Amelia’s mind. She stopped walking, forced out of her body she stared forward without a blink as if her consciousness took over. The parallel flooded with confusion, the words kept playing back. “Common,” he yelled back at her. Then everything stopped, frightened she said, “I don’t think I can.” He urged her to take another another step assuring her that everything would be ok in the end. She stepped forward, the pain was gone. She stepped forward, the flutters in her stomach washed away as the rain began to fall. The steps turned into strides. Running further into the forest they were engulfed by the feeling of relief when they got the chance to catch their breath.

They had forgotten the reason for their adventure but it dawned over them that the answers lied in the mystical realm they had arrived in. Jayden looked back but this time to only see darkness, he rubbed his eyes so they could adjust. They continued walking through the night. Looking at the trees and stars as they traveled through this unfamiliar place. Looking back every now and again wondering they had forgotten something. Looking into the open space before them let them clear their minds and relieve them of all their problems and fears. The two slowly felt pushed back into reality as the stars started to fade. Slowly descending from their heights , they walked aimlessly back in the direction they came. Visionless, numbed from their transformation they felt as if their personalities have been molded into something new. They couldnt look back at their old selves, even if they tried. The loop begins again until they return. As they approached the car as the sun slowly started to raise Jayden noticed the headlights on the car were out. They were stranded.
