World Studies builds on the historical and geographical foundation we laid in sixth grade with an in-depth look at the civilizations that existed during the medieval period. Throughout the year we will explore the legacy of the Roman Empire, Muslim contributions, Meso-America, Africa old and new, significant inventions from China, and compare the warrior class (Samurai) of Japan to Europe’s feudal system. We end our year with contributions made during the Renaissance, influence of the Roman Catholic Church in Europe and Age of Exploration.
