Volunteer Opportunities

Hi All,

We’ve had a great start to the year and it’s such a pleasure to work with your wonderful kids!

I know people are busy with their lives, but if you have both time and interest to help out, there are a number of volunteer opportunities at the school in general, and in the classroom in particular. Here’s a few ways you can get involved.

The Fun Run is coming up next Friday! Volunteers are still needed. You can sign up at:

We will be having three classroom parties during the year—Halloween, Winter, and Valentine’s Day. It is great to have one person who can be the coordinator for each party, along with a small group of parents who can run the party. It’s typically nice to have 4-5 stations, with activities or games that the kids can rotate through in about an hour.  Once we have a coordinator for each party, I’ll connect that person with other parents who want to help out. You can sign up to help at:

I will also be looking for volunteers to help out during our Reading Workshop times. During this time, the kids will be divided into groups that will be rotating through activities. Volunteers will mostly spend time having kids read to them out loud, and discuss with the kids about their books and reading journals.  No expertise needed– just a willingness to show up and sit with the kids! This will initially be only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:25-1:25, but may change as the year progresses.

I’ve initially opened up opportunities for 4 weeks or so, but will let you know as I get further months figured out. Please don’t sign up for more than one slot a week at first, so that multiple people can have a chance to participate.  If interested, you can sign up here:

As more opportunities arise, I’ll let you know.

Take Care 🙂

Adam
