Homework
Hi All,
It’s been a pleasure working with this class of 21 students so far!
I wanted to give you a heads up on how our normal homework routine will look.
Each Friday, 3rd grade will be sending home homework in our “homework binder”. You may have seen this binder–it has your chlld’s colorful name on the front. There will typically be weekly homework consisting of spelling and math work. This homework is due the next Thursday, and should be brought back in the binder. I recognize that some kids are super busy with activities on the weekdays, so sending it home on Friday gives the option to do it on the weekend if necessary.
The homework binder will also serve the purpose of Friday Folder and you should check it for things being sent home.
In addition, there will be a monthly reading log for homework. This can be taken out of the binder and left at home for the month. It should be returned around the end of the month. Please check in with your child to make sure they are successfully completing their log.
In general, homework will be an opportunity to practice skills that we have been working on in class. It isn’t designed to be overly challenging or frustrating, and I don’t want it to take up too much of your child’s time. Please let me know if homework is becoming too much of a burden.
