Happy First Day of School!

Dear Students, Families and Friends,

It was wonderful to spend the first day of school with your students!

Many of you already know me, but for those of you who don’t, I’ll offer a brief introduction.

I was born and raised in Eugene, and once upon a time I was a student at Crest Drive Elementary. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in History, and then later received my Masters in Teaching from Pacific University.

I originally did my student teaching at Eastside Elementary here in Eugene in 2001, with Edgewood’s very own Mrs. Krueger as my mentor teacher. This is my fifth year teaching at Edgewood, and have also taught at a number of other schools in Oregon and Washington.

I look forward to a year full of hard work and learning, but also to a year full of fun and friendship.

It’s a pleasure to be your teacher.

Take Care 🙂

Adam

P.S. You will be receiving much more information in the coming days and weeks, but for now I’ll just mention a couple of things.

Your child received their first “homework” assignment today. Please talk with them about it and help them come up with ideas if necessary. Our regular homework routine will begin in the next couple of weeks and I’ll provide more information about it later.

We will provide the majority of school supplies for your students, but we ask that you bring these things if you can: 2 blank composition notebooks, and a box of tissues to share.

Also, each child should bring a healthy snack each day. Apples, grapes, raisins, oranges, carrots, cheese, half a bagel are examples of healthy snacks. It’s part of your child’s homework every day to bring your own snack to school. ***Please don’t bring cookies, treats, or juices for snack time.

Your child should also bring any water bottle with a lid to use during the school day (please don’t send other types of beverages.)
