World-wide Bot-making Party with Portland artist Gray Hirsch, Sun, April 5, 2020 from 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM PDT

Botjoy is a 9 year + art experiment which explores how art can help individuals and community by spreading joy, courage, love and hope.

This session is open to anyone who wants to make art for others in your community that could use a little boost right now.

Gary will kick things off, talk about the project, connect you with each other , and then we’ll draw some bots and figure out how to creativity get these into the hands of the people that need them.

Free to all! All ages welcome! We’ll cap it at 50 folks to keep it manageable.

Sand Painting: Create a sand painting on the screen. Select an element by clicking on it in the right column and then drag your mouse across the screen to get different effects and to control the movement of sand and other particles. The goal of the game is to create interesting patterns and have fun. Build shapes then fill them with other elements. (Note: This game works only on desktop systems; it will not work on mobile devices.)

Georgia O’Keeffe’s Art Transformation: In this art-inspired arcade game,  move the Georgia O’Keeffe character and use your creativity, paint brushes, and strategy to turn the cow skulls into flowers. It’s a multi-level game; how far can you go? (Note – this game works best on a desktop computer.)

Surrealist Frogger: Forget about classic “Frogger,” where you avoid traffic and jump on logs. The Surrealist Frogger game finds our friendly frog having to dodge Salvador Dali’s melting clocks, monsters by Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp’s “Fountain,” and jump on Magritte’s Apple Man, and much, much more! Try to get Frogger into each open cubby in the Miro painting at top, and advance to the next level! Use your arrow keys to move the frogger.
