About
Where I post homework and announcements for my classes.

Second trimester grades for my classes are online.
Life Science: The next time I update the grades, it will be a clean slate, a fresh start.
Earth Science: The posted grades are a progress report only. The final grade will be at the end of the school year.
|
No homework.
Once again, I failed to pass out the last quiz in 5th period. My apologies. However, if a missed chance to make it up with a redo would radically change the student’s grade, then I will give an incomplete grade. This will provide a 3-week grace period.
|
Earth Science: No homework. We practiced a pie chart, learned about the difference between observation & inference, and did a “Tricky Tracks” activity.
Life Science: No homework. We talked a bit about the extinction of the dinosaurs, then watched more of the “Walking with Monsters” video.
|
In periods 2, 3, & 6, I returned life science tests. However, we got so busy in 5th that we didn’t get to it. Sorry about that.
I’ll be here Friday morning to take late work & test redo’s.
|
Earth Science: None. We practiced pie charts and made tracks & “fossil” impressions in clay.
Earth Science: Homework is to finish “History of the Earth” hand-out, front side. Everyone finished the front, as planned. The back side is extra credit, but hard. Then we watched part of “Walking with Monsters” — part of the “Walking with Dinosaurs” series, but taking place in an earlier time period.
|
Earth Science: No homework. We practiced pie charts & impressions in clay.
Life Science: Homework is to finish a green hand-out on the early history of life on Earth. It starts on page 182 in our home textbook.
|
Earth Science: No homework. We worked some more on making pie charts. Still confusing, but next week’s practice will help.
Life Science: No homework. I finally got my new science video in the mail, and we just had to try it.
|
Grades updated.
For Life Science, trimester ends on the 18th.
For Earth Science, the report card grade will, in fact, be progress report.
|
Earth Science: No homework. We worked on pie charts. I got a little too ambitious, covering too much too quickly, but we’ll clear up the confusion over the next week or so.
Life Science: In the morning classes, there was no homework, as I knew almost everyone would finish the geologic timeline in plenty of time. In the crowded afternoon classes, however, the homework assignment is to finish copying the timeline — page 169 in the home textbook. (Copying it out of the book is dull, but it reinforces memory, and this timeline will be important for this chapter.)
|
Earth Science: No homework. We watched a Bill Nye video.
Life Science: No homework. We had a test on natural selection & speciation.
