I have been teaching since 2001. Before that, I was a technical writer and editor in the software industry. I much prefer teaching third graders (and learning LOTS from them!) over sitting at a computer all day. My students keep me on my toes; there is always a lot going on here at Chavez!

Some things I love to do when I am NOT teaching are:

• Cooking & baking
• Walking on the treadmill at my gym
• Reading books & sharing them with my book group
• Traveling just about anywhere
