The last few days have been hard for our country and our community. Like all too many past events, the death of another unarmed person of color in police custody did not occur here, but it is felt here, and everywhere.
As young global community members, I know that within the classroom we would be having important discussions and I would do my best (as a cis-gendered, middle class, white male to answer questions or be providing students with resources to seek their own answers and ways to grow.
Despite not being in the classroom together, I am here to support each and every one of you, AND to stand in solidarity.
Question to consider yourself and/or discuss with an adult:
What is racism?
How can I identify my implicit biases?
What are things that I can do to be young social justice activist?
What does “black lives matter” mean?

The work as social justice activists is not done overnight. It is a life long journey that begins with educating ourselves. I believe in you, I am here for you!
