Part 2

Description – Find three brands/logos that you really like – can be for any organization, for-profit or non-profit, company, etc. Include the design in your post along with a brief statement about why you find it appealing, history, and what features and treatments allow it to succeed. Any prescriptive advice on improvements is also encouraged.

Razer Logo

razer-logo

The idea for snakes in the Razer logo came from the fact the Razer started as a mouse company. Early on, they realized that their mice would crush the other mouse companies. They then decided to put snakes in their logo because snakes eat mice. The shape of snakes gives it a blade look. The inner circle is made of the snake tales and it looks really cool. The bright green gives contrast to the normally black background.

Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems is a company owned by Oracle. They made workstations(computers), operating systems, java, and other programs. The triangular symbol reads “sun” four times. The symbol has stayed with the company over three logo modifications. The design is really cool because of how simple the lines are, yet how complex the image itself is. The blue would come out, but not be too obtrusive on a white background.

ChAIR Entertainment

Chair

chAIR Entertainment is owned by Epic Games. It was founded in 2005 and have made numerous video games for both Xbox and IOS including “Infinity Blade”. Their logo is very simple, but looks nice. The “h” was modified to look like the profile view of  a chair. They went with a very basic and easy to read font that fit well with the chair for the “h”. The silver color contrasts well with the black background.

Reflection- I had fun doing this project, but got sidetracked talking and it took my longer to do then it should of. I did work on it at home some though. First I found the logos, then I researched the history of the logo and company. I thought I did a OK but i could have done better.
