Week of 1/19-1/22

There are only two weeks left in this semester!!  We will finish our viscosity lab this week and finish up our unit on volcanoes towards the beginning of next week. We will look at the effects volcanoes have on earth this week also.

Many of you are aware of the catastrophic event that happened in Haiti last week. This is an example of the destructiveness of earthquakes and reminds us all of the need to be prepared when this type of event happens. ARE YOU READY? WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BE MORE PREPARED IF THIS HAPPENED HERE IN OREGON, OR EVEN HERE IN EUGENE?

WELCOME BACK: Week of 1/5-1/8

I want to welcome everyone back from our winter break. I hope you all had a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends. I took some time to visit one of our local museums over the break and had the pleasure of seeing some of our students work being exhibited, which was such a treat!  I was really excited to see art work from ATA students hanging on the walls of an accredited museum here in Eugene.

We will finish our unit on earthquakes with a plotting of earthquakes activity, then we we will delve deeper (pun intended) into plate tectonics and volcanoes!Plate tectonics
