Rehearsals this week go until 5:45. Please make sure you have made arrangements to stay for the entire time. Crew needs to be there each afternoon, Monday through Thursday. Cast A rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday. Cast 1 rehearsal is Tuesday. Both casts will rehearse on Thursday; cast 1 after the teaser, cast A beginning at 4:00.
The winner of “who is your favorite Dr. Seuss character” is none other than Horton! Let’s hear it for elephants! There was a tie for second place between the Grinch abd Yertle the Turtle. Third place was earned by the Cat in the Hat. Thanks to all of you who voted!
Renascape club will meet today at 3:15 in the E-5 computer lab. No food, no drinks, see you there!
Lunch time basketball will be held in the large gym until further notice.
Attention all artists! If you want your art to be i the yearbook, well it can! All you have to do is hand your work of art to Mrs. Nelson. Please turn them in by March 6th and remember, no color and no lined paper.
The contest has begun! Today at lunch the Mr. Irish crew will be here to take your donations to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. The contest is between you and Cal Young, so save your coins, the contest is 2 days only! Thanks for helping us, help the kids. See you at lunch!

Monday, March 3rd is Read Across America Day. This is in honor of Dr. Seuss. Please stop by the library and vote for your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Results will be announced on Monday.
Monroe ukulele players, Don’t Worry, Be Happy! Buck Mueller will visit us TODAY and give us a Reggae uke lesson. Next week Maggie Matoba will visit and give us a traditional Hawaiian ukulele lesson. Everyone welcome!

There are a few used paddles that you can purchase here at school for .25 – .50 a piece. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Blair.
Don’t forget about the Children’s Miracle Network contest starting this Monday. The Mr. Irish crew will be here during all three lunches Monday and Tuesday, raising money by selling little baby feet for $.50 and bracelets for $1.00. Come ready to beat Cal Young, winners receive bragging rights as well as a plaque with your school’s winning title. See you Monday during lunch!

ATTENTION PING PONG PLAYERS: Beginning Monday, March 3rd, ping pong paddles will no longer be available for your use before school and at lunch. Please arrange to bring a paddle from home. There are a few used paddles that you can purchase here at school for .25 – .50 a piece. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Blair.
Next Monday and Tuesday the 2008 Mr. Irish contestants and coordinators will be here selling bracelets and baby feet during all three lunches to help you Monroe, donate more money than Cal Young to the Childrens Miracle Network. The contest begins Monday, March 3rd and is only a two day contest, so save up your penny’s and bring them to school Monday and Tuesday.

Monroe students, start saving your money and get ready, because one week from today, this years 2008 Mr. Irish contestants will be visiting you during all three lunches from Sheldon High School. This will be the start of your 2 day competition against your rivals over there at Cal Young Middle School. The contestants will be here trying to get your support and donations that will all go towards Children’s Miracle Network. The school that donates the most money within the two days that the contestants are there will win the battle of the middle schools. So start saving and show how much you care about those babies! See you next week!

“Have you ever dreamed of seeing the Eiffel Tour? If you would like to turn your dream of traveling to France into a reality, then plan to be at the information meeting TONIGHT at 6:00 PM in the French room, Rm. C-2. This trip will be taking place during Spring Vacation of next year, 2009, and will be open to all students who will be taking French next year. Come check it out. Fliers are in the front hall on the table.”
Students this week is dollar days. That means you get your first lunch for only a dollar all this week. So come and ave lunch in the sub sandwhiches, or pizza or burger zones.
