Homework for tonight is:

Week of September 6th- RETURN ALL IMPORTANT SCHOOL PAPERWORK

INFORMATION:

Homework Folders:

Your student will be supplied with a homework folder for bringing home school/class information, returned work, and daily homework. Please support your child and help them establish a good routine of bringing this folder to and from school each day and getting the necessary information from them when they do bring school/class info home. For every 5 consecutive days of returned homework, students will receive various rewards in class individually as well as a whole group.

Your student will also have a planner for the year. In this planner we write down classwork from each day, homework assignments, long term projects, log reading minutes, and enter school wide important dates to remember.

Math homework: Will be assigned nearly every day of the week and is due back the following day. If homework is assigned the last day of the week it will most likely be because they didn’t turn in their homework for the previous day.

Reading: Your student will be asked to read a minimum of 100 minutes during the week and log their minutes in their planners. Room 21 will be participating in the 21 novel challenge. Every student should try and read 21 novels throughout the school year and complete a small project regarding the book. Whomever completes the challenge will participate in a class celebration in June.

Spelling: Homework will not be assigned but they will have words given every Monday. It is their responsibility to make sure they know how to spell these words and know the meaning by Friday.

Special Projects: Various projects will be assigned throughout the year. The work will mostly be done at home. There will be a research projects, science fair projects, and possibly book projects.
