Hello, I am Lisa Joye. This will be my 14th year teaching. I have taught in Northern California, Portland and Eugene. This is my 8th year in IHS and I have taught on all 3 of our host school campuses.

I hold 2 National Soccer licenses and have coached both competitive and Varsity girls soccer over the last 15 years. I was a private soccer trainer in Portland, Or. and have coached for such schools as Oregon Episcopal School and South Eugene HS as a specialty goalkeeping coach. I hung up my cleats a few years ago and now spend my time writing, reading, kayaking, running, walking my Golden Retriever, being outside in nature, spending time with my family, and traveling.

In the summer of 2019 I took students on a STEM trip to Germany and Switzerland to explore Sustainable Living. In 2022, I will be traveling with two different student groups. In June we will be visiting the sandy beaches and the extraordinary wildlife on the Galapagos Islands for 12 days. In July, another group and I will be visiting Oslo in Norway, Stockholm in Sweden, and Copenhagen in Denmark to learn why Scandinavia is currently ranked one of the happiest places in the world.

Please email me (joye_l@4j.lane.edu) if you have questions about class. Or if you are interested in the IHS travel opportunities please email me at (travelwithlisajoye@gmail.com). I am duel certified in both Literature and Health and truly enjoy teaching both courses. I live in Eugene with my husband, two teenage sons (Calvin and Charlie), a fluffy cat named Tiger, and a red Golden Retriever named Ruby Rue.
