High-Paying Trade Jobs Sit Empty, While High School Grads Line Up For University

What do you know about the skilled trades? What education and training is required?  What are the skills, aptitudes, interests that lead to success in these skilled areas?

As we know, a bachelors degree is not required or needed for all professions. And we also know that without skills, training and knowledge beyond high school, family wage jobs are scarce. The skilled trades provide high paying jobs for those with the training and skills.  We know that a High school education is not enough, and these trades are excellent career options for students with the skills and interests who want to pursue the education and training needed for them.

Rotary Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange is a program that sends high school students for a year of study abroad to learn a new culture and create international understanding. They attend high school and stay with Host Families (usually 3 during the school year). The goal is to help them learn a new culture and language, and to create “young ambassadors” who will contribute to international understanding during the rest of their lives.

For those who are interested, please attend the meeting hosted at Churchill High School on May 8th at 12:30pm in room F39.

Please take a look at the attached documents for more information about the program.
