Looking into potential colleges? Register for a virtual college fair!

Free and open to the public, National College Fairs are the perfect place to kick off your college search. Admission representatives from schools across the country are all gathered in one place. Their goal: To encourage you to learn more about their institutions, and help you sort through the qualities you’re looking for in a college. These events are hosted by The National Association for College Admission Counseling. You can register for a virtual college fair at their website.

Pureland Supply Vocational and Skilled Trade Scholarship

Pureland Supply is offering several $500 scholarships for students entering into trade school, vocational college, technical school, and community college for the study of a trade or craft after high school. Pureland wants to know why you think your chosen trade is important in today’s world! Rise as Leaders Environmental Justice Leadership Training

Beyond Toxics is now accepting applications for their Spring Rise as Leaders Environmental Justice Leadership cohort! Beyond Toxic is looking to recruit BIPOC students passionate about environmental justice to join their 7 week immersive program. You will learn from environmental leaders in the Eugene/Springfield community including opportunities to work in a community garden and work on a collaborative art piece with a local artist.

Sessions last between 2-3 hours and are held weekly every Saturday, starting April 6th, 2024 through May 18th, 2024 and participants will receive a $400 stipend for their time. The program will be held at the Beyond Toxics office in the Eugene/Springfield area.

The registration period closes Monday, April 1st, 2024 at 8 pm PST.

***ATTENTION JUNIORS*** Become a College Prep Scholar!

The College Prep Scholars Program equips high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to apply to top colleges. Being a College Prep Scholar makes you a competitive candidate when applying to college and gives you resources to assist with your college application journey. College Prep Scholars are also almost six times as likely to receive scholarships through the National College Match. 

The College Prep Scholars application will open in early February (date not yet announces) and closes March 20, 2024. We will be sending emails to all juniors about this amazing opportunity as well, so keep a lookout!

Volunteer Opportunity! – Positive Community Kitchen: Cook-Off for a Cause April 23, 2024

Positive Community Kitchen is a youth-led organization that grows, cooks, and delivers free, organic food to members of our community experiencing a health crisis. PCK also runs a teaching kitchen that allows youths and adults in our community learn how to prepare, cook, and package healthy meals. 

Every year the PCK Youth Leadership Committee plans a teen-led fundraiser. This year’s event is the Second Annual After School Snacks: A Cook-Off for a Cause.  Positive Community Kitchen is looking for Six youths and six adults to compete at this event as well as several teens and young adults to assist in set up, serving food, selling raffle tickets, helping with the art auction, and breaking down the event.
