Welcome! This is my 5th year teaching 2nd Grade at Willagillespie Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon.
This is also my first year as a GRANDMA! I have an adult daughter and son, as well as a baby granddaughter.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy writing letters or exchanging postcards with people around the world, going to Zumba, hiking, camping, baking, playing board games, or hopping in the car for a mini-adventure.
I am so lucky to get to teach every day. My own teachers left a great impact on my life, and I consider it a blessing to be able to follow in their footsteps. The best part of my job is providing kids with opportunities to do hands-on-learning, discuss their ideas, and discover new ways of thinking and doing. Project-based learning produces some of the best learning, fun, and memories for our class. We become bat experts in the Fall, and Canada Goose experts in the Spring, with lots of other fun smaller units in between.
This blog will serve as a place to house a bragging wall of projects, a collection of resources, and to record reflections along my journey as an educator, as well as with my students.
Smiles,
Ms. Sarah Donn
