Non-Fiction Emotion filled Trip

May 11th, 2018

Your blood is circulating around your body as you feel excited to see your favorite team play. You have been driving for seven to eight hours in a 1999 chevrolet suburban. My three sisters are starting to get in my head. They have begun to start to annoy me by asking if we’re almost there. They do not know my excitement. I feel like if they ask again i’m going to go on a rampage to shut them up. I look up at the front where my parents are driving just to make one dream come true. My parents have sacrificed so much of their time to take me to one silly game. That’s what i see it as right now but back then it was the best thing ever. We arrived at the Centurylink Stadium in Seattle and my excitement has gotten a boost of energy, i felt like running inside and meeting all the soccer players. But there was a weird atmosphere, like if i was getting into a battle with other people who had the same excitement as me. Everyone looked like a hungry lion who hasn’t ate in weeks. 72,000 people roaring and making the city shake. When everyone lined up by the stadium ready for the gates to open i couldn’t hear what my parents were telling me even though they were 2 feet away. I knew that they were saying stay close. There was no way id separate from them in such a scary atmosphere. Once the doors opened it felt like a person’s heart got hit with a defibrillator and had a rush of energy enter the heart.

Once inside the stadium you realize that everything is so much bigger than how it looks on tv. It also has a familiar smell. That barbecue smell on a saturday before the game starts. In the air you can take a whiff and begin to imagine all the foods and drinks. You a sweet smell, with the smell of bread with it. You look to your left and see a guy with a churro in his mouth. You also capture another smell, hotdogs and nachos. But that familiar smell when you’re at your uncle’s house on a hot summer day. A drink your dad has told you not to drink until you’re much older. Beer. When i got to my seat i looked around, there were so many people it looked like an ocean and before you know it there’s a wave heading towards you. An aggressive wave that could drown you if you don’t go with it or get out of the way. A wave of green and yellow shirts coming your way. And when it reaches you, you stand up and wave your hands up in the air. It’s an amazing sensation to be with people who are just as passionate as you or even more. The teams come out and you sit down. Focused and ready to cheer on your team. The stadium became the heart of the city for one night, and it was loud enough to keep up everyone up at night. There’s no better place to be at in that very moment.
