Everyone did such a wonderful job on their macro photography, working as a group, and your poetry is AMAZING! Very descriptive and well thought out. I hope you had a lot of fun studying your colors! Keep up the good work. You are a very talented bunch of students.

Orange is…
the sunset that sets in the West.
a jack-o-lantern on a Halloween night.
a car racing down the road.
the flowers in the spring.
one color of the rainbow.
a goldfish in a pond.
a fox racing in the forest.
a butterfly fluttering in the air.
a sunflower in the summer.
a basketball rolling on the ground.
a flame in the summer.
peaches in a tree.
pencils rolling on the desks.
a rose.

Blue is…
the sky today when we went out to play.
as pretty as the ocean in a light blue glass.
the dolphins in the ocean who want to play again, but when?
the skin on a shark.
a marble that rolls in the living room.
the crayon that I color with.
the world I love so much.
the jeans that I wear everyday.
the paint that I use in class.
the recycling bin that we have “satisfactory” on.
the reading books that we love to read out of.
the bluebirds outside.
the colored pencils that we use.
the color that many people think is sad.

Red is…
a juicy apple that I put on my teacher’s desk.
a nice ripe berry from the tree.
a big goldfish swimming in the ocean.
a stop sign on River Road.
a cinnamon candle burning in my room.
a candy cane that I got for Christmas.
a red hot jolly rancher.
the sunset on a Sunday.
the big Red Robin suit at Red Robin’s restaurant.
a turkey’s beard.
a dress on a summer’s day.
a robin nesting in it’s nest.
a leaf on a Fall day.
an octopus in the sea.
a paintbrush that I use.
a cherry on top of a hot fudge sundae.
a rose that blooms.
the fire that a dragon breathes.
the heart of a person.
a stripe on a rainbow.

Purple is…
the end of a beautiful but fading rainbow.
geraniums blooming in the spring.
love on a cold Valentine’s morning.
paint dropping gracefully from Henri Matisse’s paintbrush.
a juicy grape.
a King’s silky, royal coat.
a butterfly’s wings flapping on an August day.
the sky after a sunset.
the flowers in Spring.
the paint on paper.
the color of a crayon.
the scales of a dragon.
sweet grape juice.
soda that fizzes in my mouth.
the roses that rise in the summertime.
irises that bloom in my house.
the pencil in my hand.

Take a look at this new invention. Now you can fall asleep anywhere you want with the comfort of a pillow. This multipurpose tool works as a hat and a head cushion.

Have you always hated the mess of spreading butter on your toast? Well this tool would save you that morning hassle.

I’m not too sure why anyone would invent this. Do you?
What would you invent if you could? Please write down an idea for an invention or an ad for one of these wacky inventions. Let your imagination soar.

Meet these unusually talented horses. Click on each one to find their unique talent. After you’ve had a laugh (or two), I’d like you to write a story about them. You can just type your story under the comments section. Remember, I will not “approve” any comments that are just a sentence or two long. Think of a solid story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Here are some photos of animals and you’re going to look through all the photos and vote on the cutest photos. Please remember that you’re not voting for your favorite animal, but you’re voting for your favorite photo. There is a difference.
Write the # of the picture you’re voting for (yes, you can only vote for ONE photo—it’s going to be hard) and then tell me why you voted for that photo. Then write a paragraph (3-4 sentences) trying to persuade others on why they should vote for the same photo.
#1 Kitty
#2 Hamster
#3 Bunny
#4 Seal
#5 Puffer fish
#6 Puppy
#7 Bird and friend
#8 Raccoon Family
#9 Guniea Pig
#10 Hedgehog
