General Information for June 11-15

This week students will work on their final writing task connected to their independent reading books. All work for the independent reading book will be due on Wednesday. Here is what is due:

  • Final draft of essay/narrative
  • Writing work – outline, rough draft (marked up), editing sheet
  • Packet

There will be a final exam on Friday. It will be 20 points of vocabulary (academic and literary terms) and 10 points of analysis (responding to a short story we haven’t studied yet.) Here is the study guide!

General Information for June 4-8

This week students will finish reading and discussing their independent reading books. They will continue working on their websites, which are due at the beginning of class on Friday. Students will also have class time to work on their packets and begin working on their final essay or narrative. All work for the independent reading book will be due next Wednesday, June 13. There will be more class time next week to work on it.

This week we will continue working on the formal writing task connected to The Girl Who Fell from the Sky. The following are due on Friday:

On Wednesday, we will visit the Library so students can check out an independent reading book (novel or memoir) for our final unit of the year. Reading homework will begin Wednesday night, with each students creating their own reading calendars for ten nights of reading.
