I am very happy to teach 4th grade at Awbrey Park and look forward to a wonderful year of growth and discovery! I love teaching children and supporting them through their learning journey. I am a wife and a mother of two. My husband is originally from Ecuador and our children are from Ethiopia. I grew up in Oregon and love this beautiful state. This is my second year teaching at Awbrey Park. Prior to this I taught overseas at American schools in China and Bangladesh for nine years. Additionally, I taught in Los Angeles and Compton for five years.
I love to learn and travel. I enjoy meeting people from around the world from all walks of life. One thing that is important to me is striving to make the world a better place and I enjoy sharing this passion with my students.

My favorite Books: I love reading non-fiction such as autobiographies and biographies to learn about the lives of others. Some of my favorites are “Me to We” and “Leaving Microsoft to Change the World” because they are books about people helping others. Some of my favorite children’s books can be seen below. I especially love books that show a sense of hope, understanding and kindness. We will read some of these in class this year.
