About Mr. Blackburn

This is my 21st year of teaching at Churchill High School and my 26th teaching high school.  I grew up in Connecticut.  For my undergraduate education I went to Holy Cross College where I graduated with a BA in Math and Music.  I then worked at the Travelers Insurance Company for 4 long years before deciding I would like to go back to school to pursue a Masters.  In 1994, I graduated from the University of Florida with an MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching).  My first five years in Eugene were spent teaching at Marist High School.

My wife, Jennifer, is a PE Instructor at the University of Oregon, and we have three children, Maddie, 21, Jack, 18, and Ben, 14. Maddie just started her senior year at Gonzaga University where she’s majoring in Special Education.  Jack is a Freshman at the University of Oregon, where he is an Evans Scholar.  Ben is in 8th grade at ATA.

I am very fortunate to be teaching Algebra 2A and Precalculus A this trimester. Precalculus A is part of LCC’s College Now Program where you can earn 5 credits that will be accepted at most colleges and Universities.
