Who’s This About?

Who’s This About?

i never have to look for you within a crowd,

because your hair glows in the sun like the gold upon the pyramids,

and i never have to wonder how you feel,

since all your emotion is shown through your

brown, but piercing eyes.

Hometown

Hometown

A tunnel with an orange light.

Burning rubber on a summer night.

On the way to my hometown,

Not a care in sight.

Why The Coast Means So Much More

Why the Coast Means So Much More

Footprints in the mud,

Or sand, I can’t remember.

That day was so magical.

Failure of Callisto

“I was thinking the same thing.” Eden said dangling over the side of the ship, trying to get a grip on something. She looked into the hole that was caused by another colones attack.

“Can’t get a hold… but the puncture looks like it’s getting better.”

“Okay, I’m shooting out on pod number 7. Nova should be around. Call her!” Ace yelled into the comm while running to the back of the ship.

Eden started to pull herself up the rope that held her over the edge. She was the granddaughter of the man who got the colony there. Her dad always had her out doing handyman things, so now she’s the one who maintains the ship.

“Guys, not to alarm anyone, but my rope or my anchor is giving out. Can I get some help?” She looked down to measure the drop. The trees she managed to plant when they arrived where tall as ever, and the grass was luscious and green. She looked back at the mothership that was now on fire.

“The copy room looks like it’ll heal before the fire spreads to it, for now we need to get off of this thing.” She said into the radio.

“Maybe I could just repel down? I have enough rope..” Eden thought to herself.

“Hello? Is Nova on the comm? I need help.” The radio went static.

“I know you guys are there… please my equipment’s giving out, please help!” She waited for another minute, but knew no one would come.

Repelling was an easy task, but not when you know your anchor can’t support your weight anymore. She let the rope go through the device slowly. The sunset slowly disappeared over the horizon. As Eden looked over her surroundings, she lost grip of the rope. The ground came at her fast, and the smell of burning rope filled her nose. She let out a scream, then hit the ground hard. When she woke up, she saw the shredded rope dangling in her field of vision and the trees pointing at the ship above her. Tears rushed to her eyes, blurring everything. Blood, which she thought was snot, rushed out of her nose. Wiping the blood onto her white suit sent her into shock. The nausea hit her hard, involuntarily she curled over to vomit. Vomit filled her mouth, and the taste of stomach acid and blood made everything worse. Her body ached and after, but continued on with her mission.

“The pan, where is the pan? I can’t lose those vials!”

The viles had some of the last viable human copies. She struggled with her blurred vision and sore body, but managed to get herself off the cold ground. She saw a pool of blood near a tree and her backpack stuck in a branch above. Vials were broken on the ground and the smell of blood filled the air. From a distance, she stared at what had happened ahead.

“Eden? I’m here at the anchor. Are you still over the edge? I’m trying to activate it but it’s jammed.” Nova said over the scratchy comm. Eden heard her radio making noise, but couldn’t make out what it said.

“Hello? I need a reply Eden… Are you safe?”

Eden ran to the branch which had the radio hanging from it, standing in a pool of blood and glass.

“I fell, I fell off the rope Nova.. I’m on the ground and I’m sure the files are dead.”

“Okay, are there any survivors?” Nova said anxiously.

“Um, there seems to be one… its cracked though.” Eden was distraught… They had just been talking about this earlier, how the new world would end. Eden had always been a rebel, but one that was for the right things. She always tried to be friends with the only opposing colony in Callisto. Always sent transmissions to let them know how things were going at the mothership.

“The other colony came from this exact ship? Right Nova?” Eden said trying to prove a point.

“Yes they did, actually they are blood related to us.” Nova explained, trying to be empathetic towards them.

“And they did this to us? They come to kill us knowing the last of humanity is on this ship? This is how earth died… exactly how it died, Nova.”

Earth had died from nuclear war. All countries managed to wipe out everything except ships that could escape. Eden’s family that got here was entirely made of females, except her father and grandfather whom of which are both dead.

“We cant have any more copies, Nova…” Eden said looking up at the mothership. An enemy starship jetted by Eden’s position. A tiny but bright light came out of the bottom of the enemy ship. It was heading for the end thruster of the mothership. The sky was lit up in a huge blue blaze, and the mothership fell to the ground. Eden knew this was the end. There were only females left now. The mothership blew up into many pieces, and the blood from the copy room made the mothership look like it was once alive. Sound waves rattled everything around the collapsed mothership, and made eden collapse. The last vile had a crack in it and was fragile, so eden held it tightly so it wouldn’t break. She ran away to the nearest hill to see the last of the mothership. It was up to her to save the last human copy.
