_Grading_

Checking your grade – Grades will be updated approximately every 2-3 weeks throughout the school year.  You will need to know your student I.D. number to check your grade.  Links for checking grades:   ParentVue     StudentVue

Grading – YOU earn your grade! You earn points for participating, investigations, homework assignments, and quizzes.

In 7th grade Science, student work is weighted by following categories:
Category % of grade.
Assignments 60%
Assessments 40%

Making up work before/after school
- I am available to help students most M,W, & Th before school from 8:00 - 8:45.
- After school (3:35 - 4:00) help is by appointment only.

Late Work – To encourage students to turn in the work on time, the late work policy is outlined below:

  • Assignments must be completed and turned in on time for full credit
  • Late assignments will be worth 50% of the points earned
  • If you turn in assignments late, you need to know that grading late work is the lowest priority on my “to do” list, therefore it may be a while before it shows up on your grade.

Cut-Off Dates – To allow me to meet school district 4J grading deadlines, there will be periodic cut-off dates for late work. These dates are listed below. After a cut-off date no late/missing assignments that were due prior to this date will be accepted. This may include assignments that have not been uploaded to StudentVue.  Cut-off Dates also encourage students to finish their work in a timely manner.

Assignment Cut-off Dates:

Monday, October 7th – Fall midterm

Friday, November 22nd – Fall endterm

Monday, January 27th – Winter midterm

Friday , March 6th – Winter endterm

Monday,  April 27th – Spring midterm

Friday, June 5th – Spring endterm
