Who would like this book? Someone who likes suspense or dinosaurs.
Why? “The Lost World” is the 2nd and last book in the Jurassic Park series. It is set 6 years after the events of the 1st book. The corporation in the 1st book that genetically engineered the dinosaurs in the 1st book has gone bankrupt. Ian Malcom (from the last book) is teaching classes at a university. One annoying student, named Richard Levine, pressures Malcom because he thinks he knows something about the animal carcasses that have recently washed up on the shores of Costa Rica. However, Malcom and the other survivors of the events of the 1st book have been asked to never talk about the island. So Malcom says nothing.
Levine is curious though. He bought a computer belonging to the bankrupt corporation and found its backed up files about a second island. Levine disappeared and went to the island. He had an assistant on the island named Diego. They were walking around a stream when Diego was pulled into the trees by something. Then something jumps on Levine’s back knocking him down. Will Levine live? Who’s to come rescue him? Read The 2nd Jurassic Park book, “The Lost World” to find out.

Who would like this book? Anybody who likes stories of friendship and/or a bit of romance.
Why? In the 311-page book Peaches, three teenage girls are brought together in the most unexpected way: a peach orchard. Owned by the sweet and shy Birdie Darlington’s father, the peach orchard is the oldest privately owned peach orchard in Bridgewater, Georgia. The friendless and overweight Birdie has never met Murphy McGowen in her life, until trouble-maker Murphy commits a minor crime—again—and is forced to be a worker on the orchard, living in the dorms and waking up at dawn with the rest of the Mexican workers. Then there’s Leeda, the rich and beautiful cousin of Birdie. Her life may look glamorous on the outside, but if you ever met her mother, you’d realize that being Leeda isn’t as easy as it seems. And when her mom decides to send Leeda off to the Darlington’s peach orchard to spend some “quality time” with her cousin, all three very different girls find themselves growing closer than they ever thought possible—all thanks to peaches.

Who would like this book? Anybody interested in United States History or like horses and adventure.
Why? Colton Wescott is only 12 years old, yet he is the man in the family– caring for his ill mother, baby brother, and two younger sisters while still moving along the oxen that lug his wagon along behind the rest of the wagon train. When his father shot Colton and abandoned the family, nobody but Colton is there to watch over everybody, and keep them moving towards California, where happiness and riches are advertised. Not even the other people joined in the wagon train would come to help when their food and water is practically gone, and his oxen are barely moving the wagon along at all, just because his mother is black. It gets even worse when his mother is as close to death as she could possibly be. So when everything seems hopeless, and death seems inevitable, riding for the Pony Express seems to be the light at the end of the tunnel. He could make one hundred dollars a month, enough to support his family, and get to ride horses. But it’s a dangerous trail over the stormy Sierra Mountains. Colton could easily die in the blizzards, but that would be the least of his worries. What mail he’s got to deliver could change the future of America. So what Colton harshly discovers—he not only has to hold his family together, but the whole country. In addition, he has to keep his secret of being half-black from everybody. If anyone knew he was colored and riding for the Pony Express, he would be in huge trouble. Or worse—taken as a run-away slave. In this 295-page book set in the controversial 1860’s, Colton must take the most treacherous journey he’s ever experienced, and learn that there’s more to people behind the color.
